Sex, Drugs, & Rock and Roll Is it good for me?
Students ask me all the time for my thoughts on…Ayahuasca, weed, meat, alcohol, social media, sex, drugs, you name it, people want to define things as either good or bad.
My answer is simple. These things in and of themselves are not inherently good or bad.
The question you need to be asking is, What is driving the desire? Meaning why do you want social media, alcohol, chocolate cake, etc. The underlying energy of why you want something is either coming from a healthy or unhealthy place.
What is “good” for one person may be “bad” for another, and what is right for you now may be different than what was in the past or what you will be in the future.
You aren’t static, you are an ever-changing being and to facilitate your evolution its imperative that you are clear on what you want and then dedicate yourself to making choices aligned with what is best for you.
To determine if something is right for you, follow these simple steps:
- Get clear on what you want in your life.
- Ask yourself, What choice supports me moving in the direction of what I want? (versus a choice that will just numb or distract you).
- Use discipline to make the decision that is best for you now.
- Repeat daily.
